Why We Wear

Sitting in one of our development meetings while discussing a fundraising fashion show, a small team of The Center staff came up with the phrase “we wear because we care.” And, we really mean it. We Wear is fashion with a purpose: Your purchase supports survivors. Wearing your shirt is compassionate activism. You are part of the generation that brings hope of a world without violence.

We Wear…Because We Care is the name of our coming-soon clothing line, but it represents so much more. With your support of our We Wear clothing line, your purchase is directly funding services that support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. When you wear your We Wear shirt, you are taking a stand against violence while educating others.

The Center for Violence-Free Relationships began in Placerville, CA in 1979. Since then, The Center has been healing individuals, children, and families who have been impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence. The Center is recognized at the local, state, and national level for its innovative, groundbreaking programs, and its ability to provide essential services to those in need. Rather than focusing exclusively on victim-centric services that are ineffective at eliminating recidivism and do not address the root causes of domestic violence and sexual assault, The Center also focuses on the next generation that will give the chance to eliminate violence.
